Successful Candidates of Senator Bassey Albert Scholarship Scheme,Second Phase

Successful Candidates of Senator Bassey Albert Scholarship Scheme,Second Phase.

We are pleased to announce that a total of 189 undergraduates have emerged as beneficiaries for the second phase of our scholarship scheme, following a qualifying examination on Saturday 11th of May, 2019.
The examination which commenced by 8am with screening of shortlisted candidates,  had 1,100 candidates from various institutions of higher learning drawn across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State.
Successful candidates were selected based on the following criteria:
1.  MERIT CRITERION:
Best 20 candidates, irrespective of their Local Government of origin were first selected.
2. TOTAL NUMBER OF REGISTERED APPLICANTS PER LOCAL GOVERNMENT OF ORIGIN:
Based on the publication earlier made (on this page) on the 9th of April, 2019, some Local Government Areas had more registered candidates than others. For instance, Ibiono Ibom and Uyo had 263 and 169 registered candidates respectively, as against Etim Ekpo and Oron which had 17 and 7 candidates respectively.
Therefore,  to ensure an even spread,  Local Governments with more than 100 candidates, had only 10% selected, while 20% were selected in Local Government Areas with less than 100 candidates.
To this end, candidates selected from the criterion were 10% or 20% of the total registered candidates from the respective Local Government Areas (as applicable), who performed best after the merit list criterion.
3. DISABILITY:
All physically challenged candidates who applied for the scheme, irrespective of their Local Government of origin were exempted from the examination and automatically shortlisted as beneficiaries. This is in line with our policy to encourage persons living with disabilities to contribute positively towards development of the society.
In summary, 20 of the beneficiaries were selected based on the first criterion, 165 based on the second criterion, while 4 physically challenged persons were selected based on the third criterion.
A comprehensive list of beneficiaries can be accessed through this link here
Other candidates can also verify their scores on the website from Tuesday 14th May, 2019.
While we congratulate all successful candidates, we urge them to be good ambassadors of the scheme and the state at large.

Wow! I'm so excited to be a beneficiary of this scholarship.. I'm very grateful to the management team for their high level of transparency... Of a truth, the process was extremely transparent. And to our philanthropist with a heart of gold, a capacity leader, the senator of the people, Obong Bassey Albert (OBA), I say May God almighty bless you and enlarge your territory Sir. Thanks for the scholarship, I really appreciate

This is the most transparent Scholarship Scheme that has ever been witnessed in the history of Nigeria. I was selected in 2016 when I knew no one, neither did I have any godfather. Yesterday, the history was repeated. Thank you Distinguished Senator Bassey Albert for giving back to the people for whom you were elected. Akwa Ibom people are solidly behind you.

So to those who had 50 and above who are not chosen will just have to go empty handed,it's not totally fair. Atleast there should be a prize for this category of people, even if it's 15000 or 10 thousand per semester,it's okay for us The distinguish Senator Obong Bassey Albert should definitely do something about this

It was earlier stated on this page that 20% will be selected from local governments with less than 100 applicants... Nsit ubium had 56 applicants and 20% of 56 is 11.2 approximately 11 but 6 candidates were picked instead why?

According to my political philosophy "It is not the amount of impact we makes that count, it is the love behind the little impact that count" Great Sen. Bassey Albert (OBA) is a man that has distinguish himself and has demonstrated a high level of selfless and boundless love across Akwa-ibom state & beyond. Permit me to say that, if our state could have more people of your value, thus this state could have attained a greater high. A million thanks will never be enough to Commemorate this love from our highly distinguished senator (oba). My prayers will ever remains that, your dreams will come into reality, in Jesus mighty name. Also let your visions receive backup from God Almighty. Amen!

IT IS SO PATHETIC THAT MISSED MY TEST FOR THIS EXAMS, AND PROBABLY I MAY FAIL THE COURSE FOR LACK OF CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT. ALTHOUGH, I HAVE NOT SEEN MY NAME IN THE LIST, I AM STILL HAPPY FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY. I BELIEVED I WILL MAKE IT OTHER TIME. GOD BLESS U, OUR SENATOR.
