To Whom It may Concern
Within the period of application, we received one thousand and forty four (1044) applications from students of our Akwa Ibom North-East (Uyo) senatorial district, studying in tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
For transparency, as promised, we wish to show the criteria of selection, and hence why some will be qualified and some will be disqualified. In addition to the eligibility conditions spelt out earlier in the advert, consideration will be given to:
- Duration of stay in school, and number of years left. Given that our scope is long term, those who are already in their final year, or have only one year left in school will be disqualified; to give room to those who have many years to benefit from the scheme.
- The aspect of age. Some of the applicants are above 30 years of age, while some are less than 18. Some reflected as 2019, some 2016 as their year of birth, and this is questionable. But we have chosen 25 years as the bench mark. Hence those who were born before 1991 will also be disqualified.
- Mismatch of documents. Some could not upload genuine documents like letters of admission and LGA of origin. Some also failed to upload their passport photograph, as requested.
On the account of the above criteria, the full list containing qualified and disqualified candidates will be published soon.
