Senator Bassey Albert Educational Empowerment Scheme: Publication of 2016 Qualifying Test Result & Scholars

Congratulations!!!

We have kept our earlier promise to publish the result of the qualifying examination and names of the first set of scholars for the Senator Bassey Albert Educational Empowerment Scheme, within hours of completing the examination.

To further buttress our resolve to ensure transparency and accountability in the process, we redistributed the examination scripts amongst the candidates for them to mark and record the scores. The scores were initially read out to the candidates at the venue of the examination, Ewet Technical School, Nwaniba Road, Uyo.

We are glad to announce that out of the 615 students that turned up for the examination; 81 of them were carefully selected on the grounds of merit by applying the following criteria:

a. The best 25 were selected automatically, irrespective of Local Government of Origin. Uyai Udofia of the Department of Pharmacy, University of Uyo and UnyimeObong Umoh of the Department of Medicine and Surgery, University of Uyo, both from Etinan Local Government Area , emerged overall best with a score of 64 from 80 questions administered. The least score based on the first criteria of selection was

b. Secondly, the best 5, excluding those on the initial benchmark for the best 25, were selected from each Local Government Area. However, in some Local Government Areas, scores of the fifth candidate actually tied; this lead to increase in number of persons that were selected in such Local Government Areas, to allow for equality and fairness. Based on the second criteria, some Local Government Areas had more than five persons selected. This is evident in Ibiono Ibom (9), Itu (7), Nsit Ibom (7), Uyo (7) and Nsit Atai (6). The test result is hereby attached for easy referencing.  RESULTS
