Ahead of the 2019 polls, the political leader of Uruan Local Government Area, Chief Ekpe Atakpo has reaffirmed the position of people from the area as regards the reelection of Governor Udom Emmanuel and Senator Bassey Albert for the offices of Governor and Senator (Uyo) respectively.

Atakpo made the declaration during a consultative visit of Akwa Ubok Abasi campaign organization to Uruan to PDP stakeholders and statutory delegates from the area.

The chieftain, was particular about recent political events in the state and country, and harped on the need to ensure political stability in the Uyo Senatorial District and the State at large by returning the duo at the polls.

“For those who have seen the political terrain, we understand how peculiar the situation is in Akwa Ibom and Nigeria at this point. Senator Albert is the only one that has the capacity to defend the Senatorial District at all fronts”.

Presenting his scorecard, Senator Albert acknowledged the support of Uruan people to his success at the red chamber, and called on the stakeholders to work audaciously to ensure the return of Governor Emmanuel in 2019 as Governor, a feat he described as best bid for Uyo Senatorial District, who are primed to take over leadership of the state in 2023.
